Let God's Word Abide In You...
Every now and then I have to do like David and encourage myself in the Lord. You should too. I do this in various ways, but it all draws down to running to the Word of God and finding strength there in times of trouble. Everyone that knows me by now, knows that I love the Word of God, because it is the foundation for this life we live. So this morning I just took some time out to really get in it and encourage myself with the Word. I enjoy good teachings... Good soldiers are birthed out of good teachings. Right now I'm waiting on God to manifest His promises in my life. So when you're looking and waiting for a manifestation, you get in the Word. So that's what we have been doing at my church. I pray this encourages you and feeds your faith. If not, oh well... It encouraged me and fed my faith! I loveth you! God bless you.~
Two Things, Just Two Things
John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Jesus gives 2 requirements for receiving answers to prayers and manifestations of promises: 1.) Abide in Him, and 2.) Let His Word abide in you. That means you have to do more than just 'go to church'. You have to get IN the Word of God and study it, so that it gets hidden in your heart.
You can hear a preacher preach the Word of faith to you and receive a healing that way, but if you don't go home and meditate in that Word day and night, then the healings you receive may slip away from you.
The Word in you needs to be 'watered.' It is a SEED. Seeds need water to grow. It needs to be watered daily. That means you read the Scriptures daily to fill yourself with the Word of God. Without your effort of getting God's Word in your heart, the Word that is already in there will not have any roots. You gotta get your roots deeper. If not, the healing that you got, you'll end up losing it. Why? Because God's Word isn't abiding in you.
Abide = to take up residence; to dwell in
His Word is the power source. Nowadays, everybody's claiming to be a prayer warrior, but their prayers have no power. That's because they are praying prayers that are disconnected from the power source. Effective, fervent prayers need to be packed with power. The source of that power is the Word of God. So if your prayers have been void of effectiveness and fervency, could it be because you are void of the Word? Maybe that's the reason your prayers have not produced anything?
You need power to get a production. The production you're looking for is FAITH, which eventually gives birth to the manifestation, but first you gotta have faith when you approach God. You can't ask God for anything except by faith. Faith comes from the Word, so without the Word you ask amiss every time.
After you get healed by the Word, in order to maintain that healing you have to meditate in the Word of God, because Satan comes immediately for the Word to snatch it away or make you lose it so it does not take root. You cannot just abide in Him and stop there. His Word has to abide in you too. It is a mutual agreement; It's not one-sided. You dwell in Him, and His Word has to dwell in you. No Word, no faith.
The Scriptures have to get planted into your heart, otherwise there'll be no faith produced in you, and you'll never be able to believe God for anything. The Word is what firmly persuades you beyond a shadow of doubt that you already possess the answers that you've been seeking God for, and that is how you see the manifestation of it.
The Word produces confidence in your spirit. The Word produces faith. It makes you more grounded in what God is saying, and more grounded in the fact that if God said it, then it is so. If God said it, then the power is present to bring it to pass.
Lord, Help Mine Unbelief!
Mark 9:23-24
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
Sometimes we sincerely want to believe God, and we do believe Him, but we still stuggle with doubt and unbelief, because we've been waiting on God for so long. Some situations just look impossible.
Whenever we are hearing and receiving the Word of Faith being preached to us, yet we're still doubting, that means that there is a SPIRIT OF DOUBT AND UNBELIEF. Jesus said that 'this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.'
Sometimes we have to deal with demons that are blocking the manifestations of God's promises for our lives. Sometimes we have to fast and pray and seek God. We have to do like this child's father and cry out to God and say "Lord, I believe, but I still have some doubts in me. I need You to help my unbelief." When we humble ourselves, then God is able to help us.
I Am Fully Persuaded
Romans 4:20-22
20 He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
We need to imitate the faith of Abraham. Abraham did not allow himself to stumble over unbelief and doubt. He was STRONG in faith, giving glory to God. That's what we have to do. We have to be strong and fight the good fight of faith, all the while giving God the glory because we know we have victory in Christ Jesus.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen (Heb.11:1). Abraham could not see the promise in the natural just like we can't. But we have to turn our faith into substance and place our hope in it. We have to turn our faith into evidence and look to see it come to pass.
Abraham was FULLY persuaded that God was able to perform what He had promised Him. That's what faith is. Faith is being FULLY PERSUADED that God will do what He promised. It is taking God at His Word. And for that, it was imputed to him for rigteousness, because He believed God.
