very early in my life as a believer, Father God started teaching me things. Like being careful about what you pray for, as He does answer the earnest prayer of a believing heart.
I was driving along a long winding hilly stretch of road, no overtaking lanes anywhere. No safe places to overtake either. I was thinking about my anger issues and my lack of patience, so i started talking to God about how good it would be if i could just learn to be a bit patient at times. No sooner had i made that statement, i came up behind a sixty year old truck that shuddered and lurched as it wound its way up and down the winding road, at fifty kilometres per hour, in a hundred k zone. Needless to say, i was in a hurry, i had four hundred k to go before i got home, and i knew there was no way i could make it before dark with that truck in front of me.
My emotions began to run away a bit. Up came that old bug, frustration, followed by bad mood but then it dawned on me. The truck, the road, the whole situation was God's answer to my believing prayer. Very soon all you would have been hearing if you were there was fits of laughter, along with praise for answered prayer.
I still have issues with impatience every so often, but not so much as it was. I have learned to relax, let go and let God.
