Remember that a digraph is a combination of two letters that stand for one sound.
  • The digraph th can make the sound you hear in thirst and third. It can also make the sound you hear in there and thought.
  • The digraph wh can make the /hw/ sound you hear in when and what. It can also make the /h/ sound you hear in who and whole.
  • The digraph ph makes the /f/ sound you hear in phantom and phone.
