As I finished my exams today, it began to hit me that I would not be coming back to my high school after next week. I may come to visit some, but I will not be a student anymore. To a certain point, I am incredibley excited, but to another it's somewhat sad. I'm leaving the life that I've lived for the past 5 years (8th-12th grade) and I'm leaving that to make a life for myself. It's a bittersweet emotion.
So much has happened in my life the past 5 years, and even before that. Separation from my mom and sister, abusive stepparents, heartbreaks, heartaches, emotional breakdowns, love triangles; I've gone through it all and God saw me through it. Unfortunately I've made some horrible mistakes, but God saved me from it all. I've changed so much these past years and I couldn't be happier.
I will be starting college in the fall at my local community college, where I have a full scholarship plus an extra couple of thousand.
In early June I will start my Driver's Training class so I can know how to drive the rest of the summer and to go to college.
I signed up for the work/study program at my college where I can work at the college and save gas at the same time *yay*
Plus, I have a job babysitting most of the summer, so I'll have an income coming in until the fall, when I'll start at college.
I even have some vacation set up for the summer. My devtional group will be going, the last weekend of June to Florida to do VBS with a church that hasn't had it in about 4 years. I'm so excited about it. I can't wait to get out and meet new people and spread what all God has done for me. We have a pretty darn amazing music ministry coming with us as well. My boyfriend sings, plays guitar, and plays bass. He's best at bass and will probably play that. One of his friends will be coming as our drummer, then we have another guitarist and singer. My cousin, my devo. leader, and I can work sounds pretty easily together, and my cousin and I can sing if need be.
Then my devo. leader and I have quite a bit of experience with kids and teaching and will participate in that, and my cousin and I are great with active learning and creating games for the kids. I'm so excited about it. The trip will end up only costing around $150 apiece, but we will be doing some fund raisers soon to get that money.
