King of Kings

KING OF KINGS

Luke 1:26-33 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Definition A chief ruler; a sovereign; one invested with supreme authority over a nation, country, or tribe, usually by hereditary succession; a monarch; a prince.

Our God is so much more than that.

He is the King of Kings. He makes kings. The only way man can be a king, or a king can rule is because God gives him that power.

Jn 19:11 Jesus tells Pilate the Governor of Rome. Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above.

Pilate wouldn’t be Governor or have any power if God didn’t want him to. And that goes for every man in the World. That goes for every president, and king in history.

Pro 21:1 1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

See the Lord controls who has the power and who is king, and he also can turneth their heart.

That’s why he is the King of Kings.

See God gives us free will. But he will give blessing and judgment righteously. If you study the Bible God blesses countries how follow God and sends judgment against those who reject him.

Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

If you have trusted Christ as your saviour, God is your father also.

1 John 3:1-2 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Ephesians 3:11-14 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Galatians 4:6-7 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Lets look at Revelations this is a book that focuses on prophetic event, which if you believe in Christ and the word you believe these events will take place. I am not going to get into the whole book and the prophesied event for the sake of time we could be here all day.
Lets turn to

Rev 6:12-17 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Here we see Gods judgment is being poured out and what do you find the kings on earth, chief captains, rich men and mighty men hiding in mountains wanting rocks to hide them from the wrath of the real King. Well guess what you can’t hide from Gods wrath. The King of Kings can destroy a king whenever he decides its time. Same for anyone, even bring home his children if he desires.

Rev 11:14-15
The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Once again we see God’s Kingdom will reign for ever and eternal. If you read the first scripture we looked at in Luke you will see this also. When you serve the risen saviour you know his kingdom will never fall, and you have eternal life with him and in the kingdom.

We have seen a lot of different kings, dictators and world leaders throughout history. Some force their people to serve them. Kim Jong il, Saddam Hussein, and a lot of other dictators would kill, torture, remove limbs or whatever they felt they wanted to if they did not serve them and do as they wanted.

Our God, King, Lord gives us free will to love him or not. He wants true love not forced love. He loved us so much he

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

He gave us all we need to believe. We have no excuse.

Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

For those that reject the love of God will burn in the eternal hell

Mark 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

If you leave this earth and do not accept Christ as your saviour that is where you will be going. If you are here for the Kings return he will not be merciful. There is a place for those that trust Christ and love God and a place for those that don’t.

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

His second coming here he shows no mercy for the unbelievers. His first coming he showed grace, mercy, and sacrificed his life on a cross to pay for our sins, and rose again on the third day. Here he is coming for righteous judgment and to establish his earthly kingdom. See Christ is the king over every man that calls himself king and lord of everyman that calls himself lord.

Now I have a question.

Is God your king? Or would you rather have another king rule over you. Don’t get me wrong we are still called to follow the rules and listen to authority as long as they don’t go against the laws of God. But what about your eternal future? Heaven or Hell?

Take a look at Israel in
1 Samuel 8:4-8 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

God is displeased here because his people he led out of bondage of Egypt now want to be more like the world. This is a good picture of believers nowadays. We get saved, freed from the bondage of sin, and then we start to look at what the lost people around us are doing. We forsake God and serve other Gods.

Who are you relying on. The Government, or maybe someone else. But I hope you make the decision to trust Christ as your savior and rely on him for your needs.

Once again
Gal 4:6-7 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Wow you can be a heir through Christ. You can be a son or daughter of God and Jesus can be your big brother. You can be related to the King of Kings. I hope you make the right decision. Governments and kingdoms on earth crumble with time. If you look around the world now they are crumbling over night. We could wake up one morning and our country could crumble. But the Kingdom of God will be forever Amen. And you can live an eternal life in the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus and what he did on calvary.
