So when we cry out, Jesus you are my Lord!
What exactly does that mean?
The Greek that is translated as Lord comes from Kurios, which means "Master, owner"
Paul's proper attitude in response to the "Lord" Jesus was to declare "I am a SLAVE of Jesus Christ!" (Romans 1:1)
What right does a slave have over his owner? Or the creation to its creator?
Isaiah 45:9-11
Romans 9:20
When we confess Jesus is Lord, we are enslaving ourselves to His will and purpose. We are saying:
where you say Go, I will go.
What you say do, I will do.
What you give me to say, I will say.
It is a pledge of obedience, complete obedience. Not out of fear, but out of love!
Romans 2:4
1 John 4:9-10
He loves us and reveals that love to us in the form of Jesus, and our response to him is one of love!
John 14:15
John 14:21
1 John 4:19-21
So what is the first command we are to obey?
That is what I will cover in my next entry, based out of Romans 2:4 and Acts 2:38
