Ive Learned.....

I live although I once was dead
Was bound but now I’m free
From lust within the devil’s bed
I failed The Truth to see

But by God’s grace at Jesus’ feet
I see The Way to live
I’ve learned through hate I failed to eat
The love that Christ would give

I’ve learned through thirst to seek The Well
Hidden from selfish eyes
I found God’s Truth has much to tell
That far exceeds the wise

I’ve found great strength on bended knee
Flowing from Heaven’s throne
I’ve found obedience is the key
To treasures still unknown

I’ve learned true love will open doors
Dries multitudes of tears
Reveals to God one’s many flaws
That causes most our fears

I’ve learned that age is no concern
Colour is only skin
I’ve learned when love and grace we learn
That all mankind are kin

That God’s the same as at times dawn
That Christ brings truth and light
That man can truly be reborn
And gain the gift of sight

I’ve learned religion counts to nought
That temples, crumble down
That true salvation can’t be bought
Yet faith receives a crown.....
