In many cases the things we have learned as Christians just aren't so

It is a hard fact but a true one. We can unlearn, and we must, the things that are not truth. Jesus said of Himself that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. That particular statement has been taught too often without instruction on how to find Him as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

We know certain things of Christianity’s tenets and doctrines. We hold them as truth and even practice them. What is needful is to go a bit deeper to see if those tenets and doctrines are, in fact, truth. To discern if they are leading us to Jesus as the Truth or away to man-made truth.

This is being written for those with the kind of hunger in their hearts that desires to discern Truth as it is presented by Jesus; for those who have received a love of the Truth. There will be things that have been shown to the writer of this entry that will not be agreeable to dearly held beliefs. There will be things written that will disturb your peace concerning your beliefs. What will be required is that you read and then ask the Lord Jesus to confirm or deny what is written. None of us have yet come into “all Truth”, though we have the Holy Spirit to lead us there.

This writing is intended to be interactive, so take action. Read, discuss with your groups or between you and the Lord in your time with Him and then write back. Your responses will be visible to all who read this. You will get responses too from others who read. The writer will read all entries and respond to those which the Lord points out need replies.

Feel free to critique what is written but remember we are to speak the truth in love. That is, the love that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. We are not going to be critiquing tenets and doctrines so much as what we hold in our hearts to be truth.

Denominational doctrines are not welcome material, since they are almost always divisive. You may certainly refer to your beliefs involved with your denomination but we will not be mentioning names other than Jesus Christ. I will delete any posts that name or criticize denominations.
