So what shall I do to whittle away
The sprinklings of languor that rifle the day. I could drink, I could dream, though I would prefer To be challenged by sermons and win if I dare, the impossible race to keep my life free from sin, pride and not to forget my despair that so many believers are just not aware
how easy to succumb to the world and its care. Love not the world is a long lost decree Even years before men claimed democracy. When wars of religious attrition was rife Bloody battles to establish an eternal life. Now populist wars make it legal today That religious ideal has no part to play For the good news of old lacks validity. The gate is so wide now with no great dismay And the road being so broad even I might just stray. There are all sorts of Christians, even wicked ones too, Despite certain creeds disputing this view. The bible is clear, yes, so clear yet unclear. For those who do right they need harbour no fear. Note, these are the ones assured of their fate The younger you get, it’s never too late.
Yes! The younger you get, make no mistake,
For God seeks a youth so easier to shape.
The wise and the learned, so many abound
Heed none of God’s word, they all are hell bound.
The Pharisees and Teachers of the Law
Hated Yeshua so much for he broke their law.
Yet it’s obvious to the meek there is another way
For Yahweh to heal on the Sabbath day.
Whether stone or rock or by means any other,
Yet He chose His Sabbath Lord to raise his brother..
Rewards are a plenty for those who are for
Aiding a follower, none for a traitor.
Jew against Jew, like Cain and Abel,
What can God do? Get them round a table?
That bore no fruit, so Christ, bear your cross.
Now I’m all at sea. Oh! What a loss.
Though not to life eternal, but to the faith of a Jew.
For the true way God established has now split in two.
And the temple God established has been split into two!
One temple will perish, such splendour destroyed.
With a new one to flourish, and so be enjoyed.
By those Jews enraptured by a risen God
To spread the good news to Gentiles, it’s odd
That God’s temple in Gentiles is a stumbling block
To Jews without a temple for they now have no rock.
But let me be clear to a nation so dear
To God’s heart, so mine, and I’ll not undermine
The Tanach, the Torah, all gems old and new,
So precious to gentiles, and more than a few.
The Messiah, predicted, not just once or twice
To be born of a virgin, yet sinless at birth
To die ignominiously, midst soldiers of mirth.
There were there, sons of Abraham and sons of the devil.
Those prayed for justice, those bent on trouble.
There were Jews bound for glory, Jews bound for hell.
Not that I’m competent twas Messiah did tell.
So who will be saved, why, both Gentiles and Jews.
Who will miss out, why, the bad ones, no doubt!
