SKYDEEP, as a whole is a spiritual journey. It was our intent to take our natural spiritual "flow" as four uniquely created persons and create an offering that is completely authentic. That could not be exactly reproduced and followed in no one footstep, or any time-honored pattern. Every book in the Bible carries a signature style of writing unigue to it's author. The Psalms have been repeatedly remade by different artists, but do they reflect the actual rythem of David's soul? Of course not. How about the artists who remade them? no. SKYDEEP is Holy Spirit inspired, unceasingly prayed over, fought and sacrificed for. It was never a pursuit of absolute perfection, but of an accurate reflection. Of ourselves, our souls and unity through a passion for Christ, humanity, each other and music. This album is meant for those who experience music, that desire to go deeper within themselves. Skydeep, is an act of worship, the experience and rythem of life's ebs and flows. You can feel the rythems of our souls. The more you listen the more you'll feel that rythem and relate to it. Challenge yourself to get off the merry-go-round that is life, sit alone with it in the dark and simply experience it from end to end. As you would a book you've shared with four close friends. This is the essence of idle down, STOP and listen, seek God. Only then can you say...
Where did this journey lead me?"...closer to God? ..self awareness? ...empowerment?
Honestly, only a few will get it. It is those few that are willing to think outside the box. beyond the limits of socially taught mode of thought, beyond sound-bites, beyond denominational in-fighting, beyond selfishness and greed, beyond institutions that have labeled, manipulated and controlled our music for so long, for profit alone. Remember Jesus' anger in the market square. Our worship belongs to God and us, not corporations. So, why do we charge for our music?
It is our intent to do business as God would have us. To be able to give to those less fortunate not a hand-out, but a hand-up. To be able to put people to work, that want to work. To empower those with the belief that they have the power within themselves to change this world. To completely ignore the way men have done business and music in the past and create a "New Song" ...To Glorify Christ alone. To bring people closer to the knowledge that the power of the Holy Spirit resides within them. NOT those whom they may seek to save them, or affirm them. Within you is the power of Christ.
As God's people, when we decide to throw off the chains of familiarity and comfort we will find God waiting to do miraculous things through each of us. This requires questioning the ways we've been taught to think. Putting our time, talents and money where our hearts lie.....local business that cares for people and communities. How much longer will we feed the greed of Wall Street, Congress, fear-mongers like "Insurance Companies"... so we trade our dreams for a "Pocketful of Comfort?" Where has doing business as usual, waiting for the powers that be to save us... gotten any of us?
SKYDEEP, represents a changing of mind, of direction....away from men and institutions. Back to the power within us all, given to us ONLY by the Grace of God and purchased by the blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ... this is who we are...
