I was visited by a demon. Twice.

The first time a demon visited me was in the year 2000. I was 19 years old and living with mom in New Orleans. This particular night she was away in Baton Rouge so I was home alone. That night I slept in her bed because it was bigger than my twin size. Later, in a deep sleep, I felt someone crawl onto the bed. I remember details as if it were yesterday. My eyes were closed and I distinctly felt someone crawling toward me, as if whoever it was were on their hands and knees. I wasn't afraid at this point. My only thought was, "Did mom come home early?" I was lying on my side with my back turned to this presence. After a moment had gone by, I realized that "mom" wasn't saying anything. That's when I turned my head to see the most terrifying sight of my life. There was a demon, in the form of a man, hunched over me and grinning in the most sinister way imaginable. It's eyes fiendishly danced and had a sickly yellow haze. I can't stress enough the sheer terror that I felt in this moment! There was a stranger in my house in the dead of night! My heart stopped. It didn't touch me or speak, but only stared with a demonic laughter in it's eyes that delighted in my horror. Seeing me there, frozen, was amusing. But from somewhere deep inside I managed to choke out "NO!" as loud as I could(which came out barely louder than a whisper), while simultaneously jerking my arms and twisting my body in an attempt to attack. This was enough because in that moment, it vanished. I immediately jumped out of bed, turned on every light, and was awake until dawn struggling to comprehend what I'd just experienced. In 2001, at 20 years old, the same being visited me a second time. Again, in the night. I was living in San Diego and was asleep, alone in my barracks room. In the same pattern, it made it's presence known before I saw it or had a chance to be afraid. I was sleeping on my stomach when I heard what sounded like a tennis ball fall and bounce across the room. As if it were gently rolled off of my bed and allowed to come to a complete stop. At this moment I realized that something was slightly amiss. I thought to myself,"If I'm the only one here, then who dropped that ball?" At THAT EXACT MOMENT I knew this same presence had come back and was kneeling right next to me. My blood ran cold and my reaction was visceral."This can't be happening again," I thought! This time it got bolder. My hands were positioned on either side of my head towards the top of the bed and it grabbed both wrists and pinned them in place. I can still feel the hands. Bony, papery dry, and cold. It held me down with a surprising force! As hard as I tried I couldn't budge even one centimeter. My head was turned away as it was positioned behind me. Though I hadn't seen it, I instinctively knew that the face was level with the mattress. No more than six inches from the back of my head. With eyes squeezed tight I struggled in vain to wrest my hands free. Finally, in the midst of the terror I came to the realization that if I didn't face what this thing was then it would keep coming back. With all the courage I could ever hope to muster, I turned my head to face it. What I saw was equally terrifying and startling! It'd taken a different form from the man I saw in New Orleans. This time, the face I saw was of one belonging to a (living) aunt. The eyes weren't yellow this time, they were black or brown, staring right at me, and the familiar sickening grin was there. Were that not frightening enough, it's head was shaking/vibrating in a most unnatural way. It was inhuman. I squeezed my eyes shut and at that moment it was over. In a literal blink of an eye, the demon was gone. As before, I hit the lights and was awake for hours. Facing it worked. It's been nearly 15 yrs and this hasn't happened again. After my first visit from that thing I knew how it must feel to wake to an intruder in your own home. I don't wish that on anyone. I opened myself to this gate of hell by associating with someone who was into devil worship. Don't do what I did. Satan is no joke. This is something truly sinister. -T.
