I Want My God

I want my God to change my mind
I want You change my ways
I want The Truth my life unwind
And lift my inward gaze

I want my God Your living Christ
I want Your risen Son
I want The Lamb You sacrificed
Complete what’s now begun

I want my God delight and please
To love and humbly serve
Receive life’s crown and Heaven’s keys
And not what I deserve

I want my God my bowels to change
My wayward man to die
My selfish self so rearrange
And seek Your face on high

I want my God forever more
To be before my eyes
So far beyond where eagles soar
I want with Christ to rise

I want my God to know You more
I want Your Way to see
Ascend and walk through Heaven’s Door
Completely whole and free

I want my God to live Your will
Walk graceful in Your sight
Your wondrous love my heart to fill
And flood my thoughts with Light

I want my God to live as planned
I want Your blessings pour
I want to dwell The Promised Land
And never want no more.
