I Think I Prevented a Murder Yesterday

Hey, I think I prevented a murder yesterday. I’m ok…I didn’t get hurt.

I couldn’t believe what was happening! I mean I cannot stand bullying and other injustices…and you know what makes it worse?! When the assailant is bigger than the victim…I mean for real, if you are going to pick on someone at the least pick on someone your own size!!! I ended up jumping in.

Sure I was concerned about getting hurt but who can sit back and do nothing? It was bad and violent! I think the perp was looking to murder my neighbor who was the victim and quite smaller than him.

Ok, this is what happened. So I'll admit I was being nosy. There was someone new and kinda cute in the neighborhood. It had my attention and I was periodically checking him out...and a good thing too because not only was I able to help, but I am also the eye-witness that saw him enter the victim’s home. I heard some brief noise too that drew my attention even more. It sounded like it may be trouble brewing and I was concerned, but then things grew very quiet so I thought that everything was probably cool.

Was I ever wrong.

Shortly thereafter I saw the kinda cute, assailant perp and my neighbor outside together and that is when I watched in horror (Yes! horror I tell you!) as the big dude then attacked him. It was ugly. I mean they were outside together like friends would be, then all of a sudden I see the big guy just turn on him. My poor neighbor, who was much smaller, was on his back with the perp on top of him just wacking away at him. I saw the assailant's face too and was aghast at how murderous it looked. I knew I had to do something and do it fast. I don’t think I've ever seen anything quite like this before and I hope I never witness anything like it again.

And it did appear to be a home break in thing. My neighbor's home is new and very nice…and the assailant just walked in so apparently it was left unlocked.

Don’t leave your homes unlocked people…even if you are home. I’m serious.

But anyway, I didn’t want to get right in between them so I yelled to let the perp know I saw what happened and was watching…and hoped that would scare him off, me sounding mean and forceful. It appeared to have worked, but then he attacks again. Unbelievable…guess he thought I wasn’t a serious threat.

Well I knew I had to do more so even though I was nervous about getting hurt myself, I picked up this board and with it I was able to shield myself and the victim from the assailant. I could have seriously hurt him too (yes, I could have because I had the opportunity to wack him good with the board a few times), but I just couldn’t do it. Anyway, the assailant was taken away…much to my relief…and not sure but believe the victim is ok…maybe just traumatized by the whole situation. I know the image of that ugly scene left an impression on me…and I wasn’t the one getting knocked around.

So it appears the neighborhood is safe again with this bully assailant now in solitary confinement. I did grab my digital camera and took a picture of him when the situation was contained. Scroll down to see the mug shot below.

I hope he has learned his lesson..and doesn't underestimate me again. I don't know though, he doesn't look sorry to me. What am I going to do with him (or her)?

As for my neighbor...staying inside mostly. As I said, there may be some trauma but I believe he (or she, who can tell?) will be ok.

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” ~1 Samuel 16:7
