To spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus in India through Media.
Goal:
To reach out to the families who are broken and present them with the Gospel.
Strategies:
1. To organize small parties and screen film shows in order to start meeting new contacts.
2. To meet people at places that are non-religious and do not make them uncomfortable.
4. To provide jobs and training and making a positive impression on people.
5. To provide counseling in different areas.
To achieve our goal and vision we have done little research. Following are the extracts.
Our observations in the complex Indian Society.
What is going on inside the families?
1. Middle Class Families in India are struggling in the area of relationships, as they are not able to handle the financial boom that has come to their doors unexpectedly.
2. More families are accepting 18-hour work hours as a part and parcel of their life.
3. Children who spend hours together in front of video games and computer are considered normal.
4. Overworked Moms and Dads fails to understand that they took up this well paid Job to have a better life. Most of times it is too late for them to realize that they got sucked into something they did not bargain for.
5. Family counseling is still considered a taboo. Most of the Indians feel that counseling is needed only in extreme cases. Therefore, when they makeup their mind to seek counseling, it is already too late.
Condition of Churches in India.
I will only speak of Chennai where I live. I am sure trend is the same in every state.
1. Most of the churches exaggerate about the no. of Christians attend their church regularly.
2. There is a huge migration of believers from main line churches to the charismatic churches. Therefore, all of us become busy in preaching to those who already are saved.
3. New believers are not adding up in respect to the actual population growth of India. That is a worrying factor for all the Christians.
4. Spirit of legalism is ripping body of Christ apart. We are forced to adopt double standards. For example, it is a prevalent doctrine in Tamil Nadu that we can watch TV and movies at home but, going to cinema is Sin.
Conclusion:
1. We need to sit down and do some brainstorming and develop new strategies to reach out people with Gospel.
2. We seriously have to get rid of old strategies which are consuming too much of our time, money and energy without being productive. For example, how many people outside the body of Christ will respond and come to attend a Bible Study or a Prayer Meeting?
3. Looking at the harvest also, sowing seed is important but only if the soil is properly worked on. Many still believe that seed will take root even if placed on a rock. Therefore, instead of spending time in digging and getting the soil ready, we Christians are opting for the short cut and throwing seeds on concrete and praying day and night for seeds to take root.
4. Most of us Christians hang out with fellow Christians. If you ask any believer about his or her friends, you will be shocked that 90% Christians do not have friends outside the body of Christ. How are we to take Gospel out? Any clues?
What can we do now?
We chose the path of making a movie that addresses and relate to the unrest that today’s families are facing. It can be any family. We are all undergoing lots of stress and unrest in our families. We made our feature film that promotes counseling on the following real family issues.
1. Pre-marital Counseling.
2. Marital Counseling.
3. Better parenting.
4. Counseling for In-Laws.
5. Our God still heals.
Reason for us to invest huge amount of money on this project:
1. Cinema is a nonthreatening place for any Hindu, Muslim, Sikh etc.
2. Less people say ‘NO” to a movie than calling them for prayer or Bible Study.
3. Easy to built a relationship in secular environment than in a religious atmosphere.
4. Our interaction with people outside the body of Christ multiplies and hence chances of telling people about Jesus also increase.
