I know Christ came of virgin birth
I know of Mary’s plight
I know in flesh God walked the earth
To give us back our sight
I know that Christ is God’s true Son
I know just why He came
I know some miracles He has done
Would then reveal His name
Twas not for pride or selfish gain
Nor did He come as King
He came to serve and not to reign
His Father’s praise to sing
He’d neither pillow nor a quilt
He only had one goal
He came to show and take man’s guilt
And save the captive soul
I know He had no place to rest
Although He came from high
I know he past man’s every test
But steeped in sin He’d die
I know he rose from certain death
With power to man unknown
I know that Jesus’ Perfect Breath
Would leave His glory throne
I know God’s Breath dwells in man’s heart
I know His Flame burns bright
He comes to give a brand new start
And change our rags to Light
He’s come to show Salvations love
As comforter and guide
He’ll leave once more just like a dove
