  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The God of Your Father

How important is it for a father to consistently model faith in Messiah Jesus?
Well, let's look at how the mentioning of the honored Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac,
and Jacob is treated in Exodus 3.

In the second and third mentions, in both Exodus 3:15 and Exodus 3:16, the Great
I Am is referred to as "The Lord God of your fathers"--then Abraham, Isaac,
and Jacob are mentioned. The order of citing first the fathers and then the Patriarchs
is enlightening and edifying. However, notice the slight variation in the first reference, in
Exodus 3:6: before mentioning the three Patriarchs, Moses writes of God saying, "I am the God
of your father". I speculate that Amram and his wife Jocabed planted sufficient seeds of
faith into their son Moses,^ so that Moses chose early on to be identified
with the Hebrews, rather than with their oppressors.^^
