Sunday, November 30, 2008, 2:48 a.m. – this song is in my head:
Praying for Sunny Days / Hyper Static Union
The thunder echoes from the mountains to the waves
Sometimes I wish I could tell the clouds to behave
Calm the stormy seas just by stretching out my hand
But I am just a man, only a man so I'm
Praying for sunny days to return to me
Seeking the warmth of the solar rays
I'm not just seeing the grey skies in front of me
Praying for sunny days
This torrential downpour has my brain in a trance
I'd get up and move, but I just can't dance
Lord, You know that I've done all that I can
But I am just a man, only a man so I'm praying for…
Rain, rain go away, I have faith that you won't stay
I don't care what doubters say, sunny days will come my way
Then the birds come out to play by the light of one sun ray
Now I kneel me down to pray, please God give me sunny days
The Lord gave me A VISION: I saw Shrek and then the Incredible Hulk (Hulk figure might have been from Shrek character – both green). I believe that this Shrek turned Hulk figure was then blowing something out of an instrument of some kind and then I saw Spider-Man. END. Then, the Lord put this song in my head:
Speechless / Steven Curtis Chapman
And I am speechless, I'm astonished and amazed
I am silenced by Your wondrous grace
You have saved me
You have raised me from the grave
And I am speechless in Your presence now
I'm astounded as I consider how
You have shown us
A love that leaves us speechless
10:27 a.m. – I was praying and singing “My Jesus, I love Thee…” and then the Lord said something which I quickly wrote down, but when I came back to read it, it looked like something else. This is what it looks like I wrote - “Saudi pirates” instead of “Somali pirates.” I don’t close my “d’s” when I write in cursive, so a “d” can also look like “al”. I have a sense that the Lord allowed that “mistake” on purpose.
I poured myself a cup of coffee, juice, made some oatmeal and then I sat down with paper, pen and Bible to hear from the Lord when this song kept running through my head over and over again: Praise You in This Storm / Mark Hall and Bernie Herms
…And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm…
I lift my eyes unto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes unto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read Psalm 3:
O LORD, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
2 Many are saying of me,
"God will not deliver him."
Selah
3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD;
you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.
4 To the LORD I cry aloud,
and he answers me from his holy hill.
Selah
5 I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
6 I will not fear the tens of thousands
drawn up against me on every side.
7 Arise, O LORD!
Deliver me, O my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.
8 From the LORD comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
Selah
My Understanding: Praying for sunny days has to do with praying for a time in our world, I believe, when there won’t be all this war and killing and when the church will truly honor God as the holy God that he is and they will make him first place in their lives, will repent of their spiritual adultery, and will experience revival. Much of this will come when Jesus brings us to our knees in judgment and then when he comes to get us to be with him forever. In the meanwhile, he is teaching us to rest in Him.
The vision of Shrek, the Incredible Hulk and Spiderman all have to do with man’s altering of human life – humanoids, radiation’s disfiguring of human life and genetically engineered life forms. This has to do with man messing with creation. So, these are God’s enemies as well as the enemies of man.
The song “Speechless” has to do with wonder and amazement at God’s grace. The fact that God has not destroyed man before now is only a credit to his amazing love, patience and grace.
The “Saudi” or “Somali” pirates have to do with enemies of man. The fact that the Lord allowed me to write “Saudi” instead of “Somali,” speaks to the fact that there seems to be some question as to whether these “pirates” are truly all from Somali. There appears to be more to this pirating than meets the eye. It appears the Lord has been showing me that there is some kind of government conspiracy going on here and this is all a set-up for something much worse.
So, it is fitting, once again, that the Lord ended this with the song “Praise You in the Storm.” A serious “storm” is coming our way, but it may be man-made and we are going to have to learn to praise God even when he takes away what he has previously given to us as his judgment upon us for our idolatry and our forsaking him as our one and only God.
The Lord is showing me much about our enemies and of war, danger, destruction, loss of human life, judgments of God, etc., but they are not without words of encouragement, as well. In Psalm 3 he encourages those who are truly his that he is a shield around us, that he will lift up our heads, that he answers us when we cry out to him, that he will sustain us upon our beds, that we are not to fear the ‘tens of thousands drawn up against me (us) on every side’, & that he promises deliverance.
