How do I get my Catholic mother to accept that I'm a Christian marrying a Christian?

I was raised in a Catholic family. However, I never found the Lord growing up and just merely went through the steps of Catholicism. On the greatest day of my life though, I finally found the Lord and began to truly build a relationship with Him and gave myself to Him.

I am recently engaged and when I broke the news to my mother, she told me she has always supported me in all of my life decisions (which is true and God bless her for that), but this is the one decision she won't support me in if I don't get married in a Catholic church. End of discussion.

My fiance and I don't plan on marrying in a Catholic church since neither of us consider ourselves Catholic nor do we intend to raise our kids Catholic.

It's easy to say that ultimately, it's about my fiance and I ...but coming from an eastern culture, it's about the family too and I don't have the heart to disrespect my mother by going against her and getting married without her blessings.

It hadn't occurred to her that I haven't attended a Catholic church for 5-6 years. Its just imperative that I marry in one.

What do I do???
