I remember well when I was searching and not knowing who or what religion or philosophy to believe in. But still knowing in my heart that there is a God. Evolution doesn't get it for me. It's the male/female thing that atheists and agnostics cannot provide answers enough to satisfy me. You know, a cell washed into shore one day and WHAT? ... A coconut fell out of a tree and hit it and it sprouted arms and legs? Are these cells still washing into shore? We better stop going to the beach,.... we're stepping on them! Preposterous!Creation from a higher power and intelligence is far more believable. So with that belief, I began a soul search and found that I was exactly what the Bible says I am. A sinner!
I began to seek God with all my heart soul and mind...... and guess what? When you seek HIM diligently, HE comes to you. But see, He won't come to you until you seek him diligently! HE is the only ONE who can make you know that HE is real. PROVERBS 3:5 tells us to "LEAN NOT TO OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING, BUT SEEK THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, MIND AND SOUL" Then when you confess to him that you are a sinner and you are truly sorry for your sin, then you will understand why God would send his only begotten SON to pay for your sins at Calvary. Begotten means that God is the FATHER of JESUS CHRIST through the virgin Mary. HE had no earthly Father. Our sins were bad enough that they had to be paid for. But God is pure and holy! It had to be a perfect sacrifice and Jesus was and is pure, perfect, holy and innocent! Yet HE took our sins and paid the debt in full at Calvary. Then rose from the dead on the third day(As He predicted) to prove that HE was and is, GOD in flesh! (John 1:14)
This is why it's called the GOSPEL. Gospel means "GOOD NEWS" The good news is ... even though you and I are sinners, CHRIST died for our sins!
