How Can I Tell

Attracted by the earthly gold!
And by the glittering light
The world the truth should now be told
That she regain her sight

But this is where the troubles start!
Believing all is well
Deceived through darkness in her heart
Upon the road to hell

What can I do for those astray?
What words should now I speak?
How can I show this world The Way?
Whilst in myself still weak?

So God can graft them in The Vine
Without demonic weed
That I may serve Salvation’s Wine
That I may plant good seed

I must recall my life of shame
When treading sinful ground
Before The Saviour took my blame
Before true grace was found

What would I say what would I do?
If I myself; would save!
If I should lead to birth anew
To spare me from the grave

I first must take a look inside
I need myself to see
Is Jesus’ gospel mine to hide?
Is this why now I’m free?

I need to rise let Jesus shine
The work must now begin
The world must know Christ’s love is mine
