I thought one day all life must end
For death is everywhere
If into hell I would descend
Would even someone care?
I asked around and heard of Christ
For me they said He died
The Lamb His Father sacrificed
That life be multiplied
I gave much thought to what was said
They spoke of Jesus’ love
His blood can even raise the dead
To live with God above
How long I sought to kneel and pray
Alone inside my room
But Jesus never came my way
To save me from my doom
There must be something wrong I thought
They told me God was true
He’d even wrote a true report
For all the world to view
That self same day, I bought The Book
For months I read it through
Until my eyes began to look
What God would have us do
For months I’d sought The Lord in vain
But now I saw my goal
With all my heart I prayed again
To save my sinful soul
When fire inside I thought to feel
The Truth had come my way
I knew God’s loving Son was real
And know He’s here to stay
