When forgiveness, is your failing
If hatred, holds you tight
Without your soul, life’s ship’s sailing
Into eternal light
Who can ever hate another?
Seeking God’s help above
Without one’s own, self to smother
From grace, from Heaven’s love
Poison, still fools, may think to drink
Opposed to true love’s will
Salvation’s living Ship, to sink
Another soul to kill
Has God no eyes, this sin to see
No ears, to hear
That such hatred, evil and free
Should harm without fear
Should these scoundrels not suffer blame?
Should not such rogues regret?
Be rid of such murderous shame
That Heaven may forget
Still hate as this, goes on and on
When people smile and greet
Although God’s warning through His Son
In church, as on the street
Innocent, are a meagre few
Hate is so plague gone rage
Affecting me, affecting you
Throughout this ebbing age
But what will happen in the next?
Will Jesus hold your hand?
Or will The Father be so vexed
You’ll see no Promised Land…..
If hatred, holds you tight
Without your soul, life’s ship’s sailing
Into eternal light
Who can ever hate another?
Seeking God’s help above
Without one’s own, self to smother
From grace, from Heaven’s love
Poison, still fools, may think to drink
