The Question: Is there a science to The Spiritual?
There are rules and laws that appear to govern the Spiritual. God is reason. There is reason in the Spiritual. In the following link, I work to break down how The Scientific Method appears to work with the Spiritual.

Why does someone want to get into the Spiritual? For attention? Money? Power? Fame?
God tests your heart. Someone motivated to get into The Spiritual for these things may be wrong. He may be of the wrong spirit. Using the Scientific Method with The Spiritual, outside of God, is possible. There is evidence of it with testimony online. I can find college professors and others who have experimented with Mystical Experiences whether that is LSD experiments or playing around with demons and other occult. God is God you cannot control. Pagans made gods to control something. Someone working to manipulate the spiritual for aims that are of man or something else is a pagan or getting into occult.
Faith
Faith starts with belief. Faith is a knowledgeable dependence. Faith is a journey of working to have a closer relationship with God. Who is God? What is God's Character? How does God work in the world? How does someone lean on him? Someone growing is receiving answers these questions. It doesn't take drugs. It doesn't take any books outside of the Bible. All you need is The Holy Ghost. Why are many Christians not growing in Faith past a certain point? They believe false things. They have the character of God wrong. Their tradition or denomination and/or the people around them hold them back. They run into barriers in The World they are supposed to rejected. They may not have been that motivated. They may have put up mental barriers or walls and make excuses.
There are rules to the Spiritual and how it works. In Rocksteady Blog, I have some posts that have been working to teach about them.

God is hard. Faith is hard. It is not something that someone causally gets into. They need to train and harden their mind. They need trials. (James 1:2-4) Christians in the past who have claimed mystical experiences often engaged in "Acts of Fortitude." They may have lived stoically for some time, and denied themselves. There are no short cuts. Faith is patient and kind.
