1 Corinthians 2: 2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
Are you dear reader a saint? It seems that this passage would indicate not, it seems to be written to the Church of God, so I suppose that Church (denomination) are full of saints but not us. But wait...what's that, who are sanctified in Christ, well, OK that's me. And whats this, with all all translated in the Hebrew means...ALL, OK that's me. Who in EVERY place Yes!! Me again! call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord Yes, me again!! This really can't be interpreted any other way friend, if we are born again
Christians than we are called saints, the words to be are not found in the original text. Say your name with the prefix Saint, Hi how are you? I'm Saint Don....cool, no?
1 Corinthians 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ever notice that in all the letters Grace always comes first? This is because you can't have peace without Grace, Grace is all important. Ever Pray that God would give someone else Grace, maybe the person in Church sitting next to you, maybe a friend, or coworker...family member? Friend, I Pray that God would give me Grace! I need it each and every day. There is no walk with God apart from it, no peace, no joy, no patience....nothing. Grace is a precious. life altering, amazing gift, yours and mine for the asking.
1 Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus
How cool was Paul, let's not forget that he was talking to the church at Corinth, which had division, idol worship, and cliques just to name a few. We sometimes sit in church what is that song their playing, I don't like it, I didn't care for that teaching today, would you look at what they are wearing...etc. Well, all this and MUCH more was going on in Corinth when Paul says to the church he founded, I thank my God ALWAYS concerning you Friend, we could use that kind of Love and patience.
Friend, if you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please message me so you can begin your wonderful new life!
Shalom,
DonB
