Game Development System and Kentucky Sports

I'm a gamer. I prefer RPG's and some sports games, preferably American Football Not a big fan of those shooters, although Ratchet and Clank rock.

That being said, I've had this dream of making my own game. I've heard of Sphere and other development programs, but they really do look too complicated. You have to know code, and I don't know code.

Then I ran across this website that had a game development system, called Rapid Adventure Game Creation System. You can't make Final Fantasy VII on this system. Heck, you can't make Final Fantasy I on this system. You can make a game though, simple in form. With this in mind, a few friends and I are trying to put together a game on it. A large scale RPG to be exact. With battle system.

Anyway, I know I can't be the only one on the planet who harbors a dream of putting a game together but doesn't have the technical skills to do it. So here's the website. Enjoy!

Also, since it's summer and the Cubs are currently choking away their lead in the Central, I thought I'd talk about something slightly more pleasant, college football in the the commonwealth of Kentucky.

The University of Kentucky, congrats to new Laker Joe Crawford, is going to be good. Not offensively of course. You lose your star quarterback and your top receivers and tight end, you have problems the next year offensively. That's a given. But defensively, that's a horse of a different color. Last couple of seasons every time a big play got made, the game ending interception against Georgia, the last tackle in the LSU game, it was always not a senior or junior. It was a "youngin" as we say around here. And that gives me great faith in the Kentucky D.

To be fair, no one's picking Kentucky to do anything this year. Well, I'll do it. I pick Kentucky to finish second in the SEC east. I don't know who's going to finish first, but I'm betting it's either Florida or Georgia. Sorry Tennessee fans, but over the last couple of years, the trend has been down.

Now on to Western Kentucky, kudos to Courtney Lee for getting selected in the NBA Draft, they start as a 1-A football team this year, playing a full scheduele. So if you want, this may be the year to buy a college football video game so you can go into features and play a mascot game as the WKU mascot. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up the mascot. I'll wait. Awesome, no?

Anyway, look for them to get knocked around. A lot. Virginia Tech. Alabama. Those two hang over the schedule like vultures over a carcass. Indiana and Kentucky aren't quite as intimidating, but both are also coming off bowl seasons. Troy and North Texas are always tough in the Sun Belt, where WKU will eventually play. And FIU, while not football tough, isn't a a team you'd want to meet in a dark alley. I'm sure Miami can atest to that.

Anyway, that's all I can think of for Kentucky college football....oh, right. Well, Louisville looks to have a good year. They're getting a stadium expansion. Oh, on the field. Well, we won't lack for gritty toughness as we have the best quarterback in the commonwealth, Hunter Cantwell. He may not be the perfect pretty boy Brohm was, but I'll never question his determination or tenacity. And neither will anyone who watched him stuff cotton into his nose to stop the bleeding on the way back to the huddle during the 2006 Gator Bowl. The rest of the team ain't so pretty, but if I had someone to hand the ball too, right now, it'd be Cantwell.

Oh and Kudos to Lexington, Kentucky native Tyson Gay for qualifying for the olympics in style. Don't want to break the record in qualifying. Put it in the record books when you win the gold.
