Fruit

God’s grace really has no end. I am so fortunate that I was given the life I’ve been given. I’m so blessed to have His mercy and His everlasting love. I am running towards the great unknown, arms spread, sprinting out into the sky. I am high. There’s no other drug that can do this in this way, there’s no drink that can make me feel this good. Everything is going my way.

I jump for joy and I dance around, just filled with happiness. I could scream for all the ages and not care of who hears me going mad and insane. There is intense, intense happiness within me. There is great love born out of intense happiness, love that isn’t conditional to anything that can be said or done. Love that echoes in each step of the way, and holds me in the palms of the creator’s hand, mystified at his works. There is peace within his palms. He holds me, and shows me the world and all that I have to offer it. He stills my soul when it is burdened, and it is broken. He restores me from the pain of my past and shows me the future and who I am to be. But instructs me with gentle patience and is teaching me patience in all that I do. Waiting, because the timing is not here yet. In the meantime, he satisfies my waiting by giving people to me that make me want to be a better person, make me want to continue growth. He is kindhearted and is instilling within me a kind heart. Kindness is simply not being nice, but doing what is ultimately within the other person’s best interests. Adapting to them. Not controlling. Controlling people is oppressing them, and in oppression, neither party is truly free. Because of his kindness, out of that comes goodness. Goodness is the habit of kindness, but pursuing it daily and in every aspect. Being consistent in goodness is becoming faithful to all the changes that have taken place in your life. Being steady and strong, a spiritual rock for those who need it, those unshaky people who need who you are. This is where you stand out. There are few things in this world that are steady and strong…and when you are, people take notice. Especially when it comes to having self-control, opting to stay out of sinful things, and in argument, allowing someone to rest from arguing, knowing that angry words in a dispute hurt more than any other. Controlling your anger and tongue, knowing that in the end, the right way will be discovered and will prevail. But the key to life is being gentle, meek and humble. Pride comes before the fall, and knowing that is something that all of us need to work on. Humility is one of the key components of a believer.

Joy is the mark of God. Love is the mark of God. Peace is the mark of God. Patience is the mark of God. Being Kind is the mark of God. Finding goodness within kindness is the mark of God. Being strong and steady, always consistent is the mark of God. Self-control is the mark of God. Meekness is the mark of God.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:19-23, New International Version)

There is so much more to life than we realize. I think we all get bogged down with theology and the specifics and the differences. Too many times as believers, we argue about the differences, and you know what? I’m tired of it. Yeah, there’s different denominations and theologies, but I really am tired of arguing about the differences. Instead of arguing, we should really get our sights on God. There is one truth, and we must agree to unite under that truth: We will never be right. Our ways of thinking and our theology will never be right. No one is going to ever be right. We will never know the correct way of things until we die. We would only know the supreme rightness if we were God himself, but we’re not, so it’s time to stop arguing and bickering amongst ourselves.

I think it’s time to celebrate. I’m in the mood for celebration. There are far too many things to drag us down to not count our joy in all that God has given us. Get up, jump around, scream, sing, shout, dance, whatever it is that you express your happiness…express it in that way. There is joy in the life of being a believer, and I think it’s high time we convey that. All the fruits of the spirit are positive, uplifting and building of people’s lives. Shouldn’t we be the same?
