Hey everyone.
I went to the engagement party of my most honoured Christian brother and my loveliest Christian sister over the weekend. It was a beautiful little party, with wonderful people everywhere and God filled the room and it was amazing!
I was talking to people, some that I knew and some that I didn't, most of which were Christian, just to get a grasp on other peoples thoughts, and the wisdom that more experienced Christians carry. I came across Ruben's (honoured Christian brother) uncle, who is a very wise man. He has done the hard yards in life and really found God in an amazing way. He started talking about forgiveness, and how amazing it is, but then he asked me how often I ask God for forgiveness. I naturally said without hesitation that I ask everyday, and Rubens uncle asked me if I thought that was silly!
I was confused by this point, I wasnt sure where he was going until he explained how Gods forgiveness worked the way he had seen and understood it.
God forgave every sin that was ever committed, and ever will be committed the very day Jesus died on the cross, that was how sin was forgiven. Now sin is sin, sin does not grow, it is what it is and always will be, it can seem more or less significant, but it never grows, so we should never need to ask for more forgiveness. Could you imagine being God, and you have these people that you have already forgiven, asking forgiveness again and again? It would get pretty tedious! What we should never stop doing though, he continued to explain, is thanking lord for the forgiveness, for the love, for the life and happiness. Sin never grows, but gratitude does! I now make a point of thanking the lord at every chance I get, and every time i think about asking for forgiveness again, I thank him for the forgiveness he already gave me! I know some of you may not agree with this, but I hope this wisdom that was shared with me can helped pull things into perspective for some other people on here as well. God bless you all!
