When darkness bills and Satan coos
God’s Spirit stands us true
But selfishness may cause one lose
God’s righteous point of view
As countless have so oft before
As children of the night
Through sin, to God we close the door
Afraid to face The Light
It’s always been the devil’s plan
To cheat to steal to lie
To clamp sin’s chains on wayward man
In sin and shame to die
Yet those forewarned with eyes to see
Those wise to Satan’s ruse
May seek The Way on bended knee
For grace to set them loose
To cleanse one’s soul of spot of stain
Of stench of filthy sin
Lest midst the fray we fight in vain
And let the devil win
Still the devil is no one’s fool
He’s learnt to understand
Even a child’s an awesome tool
In Jesus’ righteous hand
We need to learn from saints of old
Like Paul who seemed to fail
He prayed, sang praise with Silas bold
Till God broke down the jail
Through God alone future’s revealed
Forewarning those of choice
Those He has called those saved and healed
