Deut 18:14-19:13
God loves us so much and wants to protect us from the deceptions of the world, even many in the Christian world, who are not really believers in what God says at all. If they truly believed they would do, or at least have the desire to do the instructions that God gives and not be satisfied with the wimpy answers that their church leaders give them as to supposedly why we don't need to do them anymore.
I'm not trying to be judgemental, or legalistic, just honest. I don't believe that we are to fret over things we have no control over, but what we do have control over we should choose to do it God's way to the best of our ability. It's for our own well-being. We should not adopt the attitude that since we can't do it all we should not even try to do it at all...that's just dishonoring to what Yeshua did on the cross for us. He did not die so that we could live as we please and not listen to His instructions at all. We just do the best we can, knowing that we are saved by grace through faith and that our/any works of obedience are an outflow of of our love for Him and our desire to do what is pleasing to Him.
