my ceiling is now fixed and our house sports a nice shiny new roof...
Personally, we all need to check not only our roofs once in a while, but we need to check on our foundations and ensure that they are firm and nothing has been removed or propped up by something else.... such as woodworm or dy rot (spiritually speaking.)
