Through sickness, man may lose some weight
Through worry or through pain
Yet food upon a dinner plate
Oft makes it right again
God’s child may fast to serve the Lord
Seek Jesus’ holy face
They take from fat within them stored
That’s soon restored in place
In Christ the Lord we fast and pray
We look to God on high
The uninformed, like fools will say
“Continue, and you’ll die”
They’ll seek themselves, the finest fair
As though they’d never had
From all, they’ll take the richest share
Yet fail to think it bad
But what will come in times of drought?
When famine hits the land?
When young and old but weep and shout?
When food is not at hand?
When sheep of God, the mob have killed
When bibles, men expel
When Godly souls cannot be filled
For no one’s left to tell
What happens; when no priest’s about?
God’s holy word to share?
What have they then to fight the drought?
When no one’s left to care
Think well, what five wise virgins did –Mt.25:1-13
They saw what oil is for
So much within their lamps they’d hid
They found Salvation’s Door…
