Something sacred to all of us.
And if you can get through my attempts at humor, my dry jokes and my refusing to use labels (I do not do labels) Then my wish is for you to open your mind, think about what I say and if I offer some snippet which makes your day or life better, then take and use ot for what you can.
I am not a KNOW IT ALL nor do I profess to be. I am not a prophet, and I am not seeking a profit.
I am not seeking a following; only a brief audience.
I just posted a message on the non -christian section about psychics and paranormal (hence frauds and hoaxes)
Rather than rehash it, let me ask you this: Sitting in front of me is an envelope. It is sealed and being opaque, cannot me seen through. I invite any psychic out htere to use their psychic powers, ask their spirit guide, ouija board, tarot cards or whatever to please tell me the contents of this envelope. can you do that? OF COURSE NOT. You can't.
But people will claim that they or someone they know can.
Prove it.
Do it and prove it. When I see the proof, I will be convinced.

In our lives, we seek meaning. We seek excitement. The great Greek Philosopher Epicurius knew this, seeking "maximum pleasure and minimal pain" Human nature yearns for excitement, and for some this boredom is met by the excitement of the paranormal and the occult. Especially at Halloween.
We were in St Augustine FL recently, a lovely city with a growing number of ghost tours and such which are obviously bringing in a nice paycheck for their operators. One event, which my son asked about, is a visit to the rather eerie and somewhat spooky Ripley's Museum. Supposedlym the ghost tour concludes with a visit to the basement of the museum where all the lights are turned off and many people claim to see ghosts.
My son was concered, asking if the ghosts were real and how they contain them so that the visitors can see them.....
I explained that one, they are not real. THey may be lights, they may be mass halluciantions under the power of suggestion, they may be people who are making $6.50 an hour running around in sheets.....
But most likely, they are the result of the human eye, which is evolved to gather light, trying to gather light which does not exist in total darkness. The brain will fire signals in total darkness trying to see something, even if nothing is there to see.
There..that's the ghost.
Rather than pay the $25 or how much it was, just go stand in your closet for a few minutes with the lights off. See a few random flashes of light, call it a ghost and be done...and $25 richer
Which is more than what one card reader at a local psychic gathering was charging for readings. I remember making up some non existant problem /issue that I needed help resolveing. Strange, all the questions I asked were phony, not even close to being accurate, and yet his cards did not tell him "Hey this guy is a Wisearse who is here to debunk you so don't engage him...."
Guess that was not in the cards
He argued afterwards with me that HE was right and I was wrong, that the questions I asked came out because the God knows me better than I know myself or something..SO therefore according to him, I had NOT made up all the questions (Even though I had never been to Spain and asked if I should move back there) !!!! Whatever
Again, my challenge is this: I want Proof. I want proof of ghosts, I want proof of paranormal activity I want PROOF that all this is real. And so far, I have not found any such proof , only hoaxes and misinterpretations of facts.
As long as that is the case, Halloween here will be nothing more than costumes and junk food, parties fun and decorations I am not in the mood to put up this year.
