Did you retake your permit test? I had to do that because the permit expires after a year. And driving will get easier. Are both your parents tough to drive with? I really only drove with my dad, my mom pretty much refused to drive with me until I was almost ready to get my license. If you can try to practice with somebody else that's over 25, you should try to do that.
As for the weight thing, don't stress about it too much.
You don't have to exercise too often to stay in shape. I have a really good core workout that rocks, and I love weight-lifting workouts. Just find an activity that you love! Sports, lifting, running...I personally hate running. And running doesn't do anything to keep my tummy flat, my core workout does that. I've been playing volleyball for PE credits in college, and that's super fun and great for my legs and butt.

I have a relatively balanced diet, because I love milk, meat, pasta, and fruit. I'm not a really junk food person.
I have tried to keep a food diary (at my mother's request), and that could be helpful too. I looked at a food pyramid and tried to plan my meals per day according to what the pyramid suggested, servings wise. (I'm currently trying to find images for serving sizes).
