As we Christians know, faith is one of the foundational pillars by which we live. Our Lord said that with faith, it is possible to tell a tree to be removed from the ground, and cast into the sea, and it will come to pass.
I think that a lot of Christians struggle with this. These days, one doesn't often hear of someone who spoke something in faith, and saw it materialize. One thing that took me long to understand, is that we, by ourselves are not capable of building our own faith. The word makes it clear that Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith. Don't we all desire to have faith like that? That is one struggle that must be common to many. Some accept what they feel are their own limitations and give up on the idea of obtaining stronger faith.
I had this struggle at a tender age of 6, and remember asking the Lord to help strengthen my faith. Certainly, Jesus said that we don't have because we don't ask. This must be one of the most powerful truths out there. If we need or want something, why not just ask the Lord? If it's something that is within His will, He'll certainly give it. And faith is most certainly among those things.
To this very day, the Lord is still answering that little prayer. By His Spirit, He took me on a journey of faith that changed me so much that it is hard to think what life would have been without Him. My life would have been one long list of disasters - and He allowed me to see that in such detail, that it made me a whole new man. It is so wonderful to see how He is able to give what is good for us, in such abundance.
