Whether we are smart enough to seek something greater than ourselves on our own or, as some believe, that God wakes us up to do so, this will always be a matter of debate between religious factions and, quite frankly, yet another rabbit trail that leads us further away from the Kingdom, which is the ultimate 'God trip'.
We must first, as God says, seek Him constantly. In doing so we will come to the point where we understand why our self-serving ways are not only NOT His ways but also the reason for all evil in earth. If we then compare the wisdom of His second commandment as a replacement to selfishness, then we will have found His truth, and we should willingly proclaim allegiance to Him and not to the adversity of both elohim and mankind alike. You know… systems and societal norms of a world that we have created in our own selfish image, rather than in the image of God. A world where we prefer to use God to serve our purposes rather than change ourselves to serve His. A world where the masses have been duped into worshipping both elohim and human leaders alike. Of course, in this day and age where 'self' has become so rampant as an identity, people are ignoring God or religion altogether and are rebelling against the teachings of elders and history alike, seeing no further into the beyond than themselves. Self-entitlement rules the world, and the chaos builds. Doubtful? Turn on the news or 'reality' TV.
