I have quite a problem with unorthodox, esoteric christianity. When secular people think of orthodoxy they often think of christians who accept no new ideas and who insist on traditions that are harmful and which aren't needed anymore in a "modern world". But actually, in the truth a solid orthodoxy in our faith would help us very very much. It's a shame that christianity doesn't have any ecumenical councils anymore like the nascent church had them. Often people have to figure out heresy and apostacy on their own and there is no uniform voice of the church anymore. There is a huge level of frustration and growing desinterest for the church, but this stifles us so much. We get hung up on minor details, on minor disagreements, and often don't know anymore how to handle life if things are not peachy. It's a constant pain.
It's rather simply, we have to become more reliant on God, more truly full of a humility that we recognize as a strength and not as a weakness. We must understand it better that we live in a world of sin, so we are not surprised so much anymore yet without great bitterness. Jesus remains our divine lover. He has foreseen these things too and they are on His heart as well as on ours. The church is still God's beloved Judea.
When people say there is a lack of God, this always means there is also a lack of people. Not that humans can replace God, not by far, but a compassionate human in your way can give you a similar relief and help as the compassionate Lord. The question of pain and suffering in so many people's lives can only be solved in this day and age by seeing the human element, the great difference we can make in each other's lives. I believe God wants to help everyone, but He wants to do that through human servants.
