When man slew man with jealous hand
When anger drenched the earth
Cain was expelled from God’s fair land
For giving hatred birth
Atomic bomb and aeroplane
Missiles of every kind
Has now the world become insane?
Has man now lost his mind?
Why else should brothers seek to fight?
Why else must wars be fought?
Surely sanity’s taken flight
Ending intelligent thought
Is no place left for brotherly love?
Must hate direct our course?
Will kings not look for help above?
Has fear become our source?
The bible tells us crystal clear
Rumours of war must be
But must God’s children die with fear?
Before one’s eyes can see!
Before we break this world apart
Its time to take account
To speak the truth to search one’s heart
To drink of wisdom’s fount
Let’s hear what Jesus has to say
Let’s see what God has planned
Let’s seek through love Salvation’s Way
Let’s seek to save our land
Let’s seek to save the world itself
Let’s seek God’s face anew
Let’s take the bible off the shelf
