The Lord Jesus Christ loves you.
On this wonderful day, He says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
It is fear that makes anyone nervous. In His Word we read about many of our forefathers who experienced fear. The Lord who chose Abraham and called him, encouraged him by saying, “Do not be afraid, Abraham. I am your shield and your very great reward” (Genesis 15:1). The Lord appeared to Isaac and promised him, “Do not be afraid for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of My servant Abraham” (Genesis 26:24). The Lord told Moses, Do not be afraid of king of Bashan, for I have handed him over to you, with his whole army” (Numbers 21:34). He told Joshua, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Joshua 8:1).
Only a father can say, “My child, do not fear, for I am with you. I will strengthen you and help you.” Our heavenly Father who loves us much more than our earthy father promises us “My child! Be courageous always.”
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives our fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (I John 4:18). When we are gripped by fear, we do not know what to do. But when the Lord pours His love upon you, that fear leaves you automatically. Whenever the wisdom of the world, circumstances, medical science, reality, etc, told me that this would be the end of mine and my family, my beloved Savior Jesus comfort me, console me and encourage me. He graciously enabled me to seek Him with faith and confident. “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6).
Therefore, “we can say with confidence, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6). The Bible says, “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe” (Proverbs 29:25). Always remember that the Lord leads you and be of good cheer.
