In talking to the Apostles and disciples in the Olive Garden (the mount, not the restaurant) Jesus spoke of caring for each other including our enemies, just as He cared for us and as we would hope others would care for us. A final of two previous commandments which basically said, put the will of God before the will of man thus loving all as self. His gospel was the Gospel of the Kingdom, which showed the ways of God are not the self serving ways of man but are of servitude in caring for each other, rather than personal gain at others expense. That is what separates those of the Kingdom from those still of the world which man has made in our own image of self interest. We know this to be true from scriptures based on the separation between the world and the Kingdom. Self interest keeps man fighting amongst self over silly and meaningless issues to God while as a result, the power in this world sits unnoticed and untouched above them all, playing one side against the other to keep us self absorbed. Our time would be better spent following Jesus' commandments.
Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
