Went to church one night and the pastor pointed out something that just hit me squarely between the eyes... did I EVER made Jesus my LORD when I repented and turned away from the old life 20+ years ago?
I made Him my Savior, but I never made Him my LORD.
Yes, I am saved, but did I make Him my LORD?
Yes, I believe He is the Son of God, but did I make Him my LORD?
Yes, I believed that He died for my sins, and was resurrected from the dead, but did I make Him my LORD?
Yes, I believed that He is the Way, the Life, and The Truth, but no one comes to the Father but through HIM, but did I make Him my LORD?
No. Yes. Maybe.
I didn't. I think I did. I'm not sure.
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Colossians 2:6,7
6)As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7) Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Acts 20:21
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
In other words, salvation is putting in MY trust, MY faith in Jesus as LORD. yes, He is a Savior, but He is LORD first. He is the name above ALL names, salvation is found in NO ONE (Acts 4:11), He is made LORD, and all creation that have breath will glorify Him for His redeeming POWER...as LORD, Savior, and Messiah.
I CONFESS NOW BEFORE ALL, THAT I CALL ON JESUS AS MY LORD.
HOLY, JUST, MERCIFUL, COMPASSIONATE, SAVIOR, HEALER, LOVER OF MY SOUL.
AMEN!
