Dedication To Mike

Yesterday I was informed by E-mail that a close childhood Friend of mine had passed due to Kidney cancer. He had been in Pain
and was challenged by his sickness in so many ways yet he pushed himself to care for others till his dying hours.
Below is one of the the many E-mails his daughter received.

Dear Katie,

Thank you for notifying me (us) of this. I am truly sorry for your loss. I was supposed to meet with Mike in a couple of hours to go over to XXXXX Community Church to pick up some food I ordered and introduce him to this new Angel Food Ministry program. I am a bit dazed by the news.
I was going to give him a copy of a book that just I bought for him, especially knowing he had such a renewed interest in reading lately. It is a book called "90 Minutes in Heaven". It's a book by an ordained minister, Don Piper, who was killed in an awful wreck involving a truck. He was pronounced dead by several officials at the scene. About 90 minutes later he was found alive. The interim time he was given a very clear and detailed view of Heaven. But he was brought back. He went through years of unbelievable rehabilitation, extremely painful, even involving stretching of his leg bone for one part. He was lost, confused, and very angry about being brought back to this earth to endure all this. He told no one, not even his wife, about the time he was literally in Heaven during his "death", because mainly it was too personal, and secondly he thought no one could possibly understand. Finally he was convinced to tell his wife, and then others.
He describes in great detail what he saw as he approached Heaven. He dispels a lot of what has been said by others who supposedly had this kind of view, and there have been many. He did see awesomely bright light, and was greeted at the gate by many people who he had known in life, the ones who had an influence in him becoming a Christian. His grandfather, his boyhood friend who had died, his great-grandmother, etc. He goes on to describe what joy he felt, and that although this may hurt a little, he did not even think of the ones he had left behind because it was instant bliss being in the dwelling of our Lord Jesus. This is all happening very early in the book. It goes on to tell of the cacophony of music, music from hundreds of hymns and praise songs all at once being played and sung, all comprehensible at once. Colors way beyond what we know of in our earthly minds. Then his struggles dealing with this coming back to this life.

I believe your father is having this heavenly experience right now. I didn't know all about his history, but that isn't important to God and really not to me either. I saw a change in Mike since he got sick and realized he too was mortal. His emails talked of God. This is not something I knew him to talk about 20 years ago, although I may not have not been looking hard enough. I now look forward to having him be among the greeting party for me, and you too.
=========================

May GOD Bless You, Mike as you have touched me and others in so many ways, my Good Friend and Brother..
Love you Bro,
Daniel
