Today, God reminded me, before my planned time with Him, that evil cannot win. And I don't mean that evil must not win. I mean that evil will not win, as long as it continues its evil ways.
God is in control of this world. He allows evil to exist, for reasons to be discussed elsewhere. So, there are people who succumb to evil and sin and practice it unrepentantly. These people may appear to advance themselves and benefit from their evil ways, but only in the shallow ways of the world. The enemy cannot win. He can cause collateral damage, but those of us who choose good, choose to be saved, will always be saved.
Sometimes it seems the biggest problem with evil is that it keeps us from being perfectly happy in this world. Evil screws it up. Keeps us from enjoying some of the wonderful things we could have in an unspoiled world. BUT (even though I didn't plan on mentioning this), if we can't choose to be evil, if our only option is good, then we're basically just action figures that God is playing with. He wants us to choose good, to choose to be with Him, but if we don't make that choice of our own free will, then it's pointless.
Yes, evil does spoil this world. But evil only spoils US if we allow it to. And if we choose God over evil... then we have certain victory. And life.
Praise God.
