As I've been doing my bible studies (though I am sick I will not be parted from God!) I've stumbled across something I believe may be profound. When discussing things such as evidence for a global flood with those who do not believe, or who scoff and say there is no evidence, we should remind them that God created the land from or under water. With this in mind, think about how different this would already make the earth look from a scientific standpoint. Now, imagine all of that land flooded over again. The changes would be catastrophic. Let us look first at the point of God creating the earth. It was entirely water. Now where did that water go when He created the land? I contend that this is the fountains of the deep that are broken up. God trapped that water below ground knowing full well He would release it again. Now imagine that being released all at once under the intense pressure of the land pressing down on it! It would be like filling a balloon with water and then squeezing it all back out! Now what wouod happen to the land? It would break apart, and separate as the unheard of pressure forced its way out, eroding miles and miles of dirt and rock in a very short period of time! This sediment would settle out over the entirety of the earth as the new downward pressure of water built, forcing some parts of the earth (the tectonic plates) to collide creating massive mountains and huge valleys. I'm sure this has been thought of before, but to me this revelation was truly cemented in my mind as I read through Genesis. The thoughts seemed to crash into my mind as though they weren't my own, and I knew God was laying them there for me to better understand and grow closer to Him!!!
