By self! The Way to life is blocked
The devil, filled with pride
Until man’s sin hell’s gates unlocked
Rebels to burn inside
Disobeying God’s sacred rules
Jams tight life’s pearly door
Cursing who live, like blind lost fools
To hell forever more
The devil has lost his laughter
A smile is never seen
Fools walk as dead hereafter
Where shame has edged between
But wisdom’s free; to everyone
Who’ll seek out God on high
Who’ faithful bow to Christ God’s Son
May live to never die
Far and beyond world time and space
Where eagle’s flying cease
Repentant sinners may see God’s face
And always live in peace
But who will self, lead to falter?
To shrivel unto death
Place lust’s desire on the altar
To gain eternal Breath
The Holy Ghost, to dwell inside
Through faith, Jesus will give
To encourage, counsel, to guide
And teach us how to live
Through obedience, light will dawn
To leave, all self will flee
Heaven; will witness, a new born
Living completely free…..
