We buy a house that cannot last
A car that’s doomed to rust
Few think about our wayward past
Or when we turn to dust
With God most find no time to talk
For church they’ve no desire
With Satan though, they choose to walk
And think they’ll flee hell’s fire
They fear no God, nor coming wrath
They’re arrogant and proud
Eager to walk the darkest path
And mingle with the crowd
But praise The Lord I’m on The Way
I’m bound for higher ground
Although this tent may soon decay
The Tree Of Life I’ve found
Though still life’s roads have many thorns
Though serpents seek to kill
By taking heed while God forewarns
I’m climbing higher still
The devil’s way is not for me
I’ll feel no vengeful sword
I’ve found obedience is the key
When Christ became my Lord
Serving The Lord, loving God’s Son
Heeding life’s Coach within
Through Heaven’s Lamb the battle’s won
Through love we conquer sin
Be unafraid when truth is yours
If Christ you see as King
The grave has closed it’s gaping jaws
