A little clarification on my child-free status and how I do not like children.
Do you like children? I sure don't.
I go with 'rats' as a good example. No one ever questions why a person doesn't want rats around.. they're dirty, they carry disease, they make noise, they chew everything up, they get into everything... they cost you money
And so on.
Children are loud, they chew on things (the ankle-biters do anyway [toddlers]), they touch everything, they get into everything, they destroy things, they cost you money, they're sticky and dirty and carry around whatever class illness is going around in their schools and proceed to infect mommy and daddy who then infect ME...
In other words, I wish people would stop questioning the fact that I don't like children. "Why? Why? Why?" -- urgh, I don't know, why don't you like brussel sprouts? Or carrots? Or lima beans? Because you were born like that. Fact is, if you don't like cats, you don't like cats. You don't need a reason not to like cats... sure, some people are allergic, but other people just don't like cats. Can't we just deal with that?
Do you hate children? Sometimes, I'll admit it.
Do you hate my children? No, I have no I have no personal grudge against your kids in specific.
Do you hate me for having children? Of course not.
Do you care if I have children? Not if they aren't bothering me
Why do I care what you do with your life, provided it's not affecting my life?
What if I was once child-free, and then chose to have kids? Congratulations for making a personal choice that is best for you, assuming that's what you've done. Again, I don't care as long as it's not affecting my life.
What if my children ARE bothering you? Then you're probably a bad parent
*ducks* -- Or a bad person, one of the two. It depends on whether or not you are letting them annoy the crap out of strangers on purpose, or if you honestly don't have control of them. I'll even give you some credit if you are at least trying to keep them in check, because the little hellions do have minds of their own I realize. Or perhaps you honestly don't realize that not everyone in the world wants to deal with your child? I guess "ignorance" is another factor I have to consider...
What bothers me are parents who think the world wants to know and interact with their kids. Parents who believe they come first before everyone else simply because they have procreated. Parents who hold a superiority complex based on entitlement because "Here before you is my procreation for you to behold and worship."
Now that bothers me.
