Christmas

As we approach the Christmas season i urge you all to think deeply about what we are really celebrating. It is so hard to come back to what Christmas is actually about when we are surrounded by trees, presents, santa and decorations. And i am not for a second saying to cut all of the festivities out of your holiday because we are, after all, celebrating! But we are celebrating the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ...........and as my dad used to say "you should never leave the Christ out of Christmas."

I have been listening to some Christmas carols and you know the one that really spoke to me out of them all? Hark!The Herald Angels Sing......these two parts particularly

"Pleased as man with man to dwell, Jesus our Emmanuel"
"Mild He laid His glory by, born that man no more may die. Born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth"

These words just sum it all up for me, our savoir, our KING Jesus, came down to earth to live amongst men even though He didn't have to, leaving His glory behind in heaven to come to this sinful earth. And what for? All to save us and give us the promise of eternal life in heaven with His father. To allow us to be born again. Hallelujah!!!!!!
