This is quick post to express my desire to see better Christian and Muslim understanding as well as cohesion in the future.
I hope this can materialise. I feel, generally, christians and Muslims in the West intermingle well and respect each other. However, with recent political unfoldings, I feel the good working relationship the Muslims and Christians had nurtured has been tarnished somewhat.
I hope Muslims and Christians can look beyond these issues and promote further bridge-building (much needed) and both groups actively participate in furthering the betterment of this small, delicate planet we all SHARE.
I do feel there are extreme groups on both sides who would love nothing better to put further spanners in the work and polarize both groups further. I feel there are an increasing number of Christian evangelicals that are making careers out of demonizing Muslims in the disguise of preaching to Muslims. Muslims are involved in the same activity but I do feel that this is more prevalent in the Christian communities, especially online.
Of course, corrupt Muslims are causing problems too and their despicable act of savagery (9/11) is being used to fuel anti-Muslim by fundamentalist Christians. I have personally seen numerous Christian sites which are employing such vile tactics.
I feel charachters such as Sam Shamoun, David Wood, ChristianPrince, Matt Slick, Robert Morey etc do more damage than good. They (I feel) further antagonise the situation resulting in greater mis-trust amongst the two communities.
I ask Allah to bring the two communities closer together. Ameen.
