I appreciate sanctifying music with Bible verses, an uplifting or challenging message, and generally thanking God for creating us with the capacity to make & appreciate music. Yet the contemporary Christian genre is simply not appealing to me...here's good Christian songs, in genres that I can appreciate:
Metal/Rock/Blues
Styper is an awesome band! They have plentiful great songs; I share this one in particular, because this video is fantastic. Not the flashiest effects, but the best-used, in my simple opinion. Also...these guys are on tour now!!
The Thirsting has some top-notch punk-rock! I accidentally got on their email list, and these guys are looking to put on concerts for church events, in hopes of bringing more people to church...that's my hope in sharing all this music, too. Let this music be another avenue to bring souls to the God who made them.
Per the recommendation of a music lover in my comments, I sought out & enjoyed a band called Chaotic Resemblance! Here's their Soundcloud, for your listening pleasure & auditory sanctification:
CHAOTIC RESEMBLANCE
ADX is an epic French thrash metal band from the 80's. The title of this song translates to, To The Glory of God. Isn't that the point?
Darrell Mansfield has great albums; he's a good mix of rock & blues. His album Crossroads is more guitar-oriented, and harder rock; Give Him Your Blues is heavier on the harmonica & the blues vibes.
Polka? Yes!
Chardon Polka Band is a new group from the Cleveland area. They have plenty of good tunes, but relevant to this blog post, here's their album of upbeat polka hymns:
