No longer streets are safe to walk
Houses are locked and barred
We must beware to whom we talk
To whom we give regard
The youth today scarce show remorse
The smallest children steal
The tongue of man has grown so course
What must our God now feel?
In not few homes the devil's guest
He's worshipped and adored
The wicked thrive as though they're blessed
Who thinks of Christ The Lord?
Who thinks today of lost and waif?
Who cares for wrinkled brow?
Even in bed there's no one safe
How deep has man sunk now?
Must sin increase to heights unknown?
Must shame seek depths unseen?
Have hearts become so cold as stone?
Can Jesus find His queen?
How far has man from God to stray?
How deep have we to fall?
How can we hope to live this way?
When Jesus makes His call
The sea's become a cesspool now
Most lakes are like a sewer
Most knees to God refuse to bow
Christ's flock grows daily fewer
Recall the days of Lot and wife
Recall when God sent rain
